Building Asia’s AI Computing Hub! Ponsfu Industrial Teams Up with Japanese and Taiwanese Partners to Build a GPU Data Center in Shiga
Ponsfu Industrial Co., Ltd. has formally announced that it has signed a “Memorandum of Cooperation (MOU) on Data Center Business” with Japan’s listed company Kitahama GRF Co., Ltd. and Taiwan’s advanced energy-equipment supplier G-Tech Taiwan Co., Ltd., jointly launching a GPU data-center construction project in Otsu City, Shiga Prefecture, Japan, with technical support from Ablecom, a world-renowned AI-server manufacturer.
An Advanced AI Compute Center in Shiga with 20MW of Power Capacity and 5 Usable GPU Clusters
This collaboration aims to build in Shiga Prefecture an advanced AI compute center with 20MW of power capacity and 5 usable GPU clusters, combining Ponsfu’s leading advantage in AI compute resource positioning, Kitahama GRF’s deep roots in the Japanese market and G-Tech’s GPU supply capability, to become a key node for AI computing and technology development in Asia.

The GPU resources will be provided and managed by G-Tech Taiwan, using Ablecom’s immersion-cooled AI server solutions to achieve high performance and sustainable energy operation. The data center is planned for Yamayuri-no-Oka in Otsu City, covering 10,000 m², equipped with high-load-bearing floors, a 20MW transformer, a 400Gbps backbone network, solar and self-generation power systems, and round-the-clock security monitoring, and is expected to become a top AI computing base in the Kansai region.
The MOU signed on the 7th will start negotiations among the three parties on operating plans and resource allocation, and open the subsequent processes of technical integration, establishing the operating system and formal contract signing.
