Ponsfu Joins Hands with Pingtung Young Farmers to Create a Sustainable Future
The Agriculture Department of the Pingtung County Government has been actively promoting the upgrading of local agriculture and has once again brought about deep cooperation between companies and young farmers. At a press conference on 12/18, Chen Mei-chih, Deputy Director of the Pingtung County Agriculture Department, witnessed Ponsfu Industrial Co., Ltd. signing MOUs with a papaya young farmer and a taro young farmer to meet the young farmers’ funding needs. At the same time, the well-known hand-shaken drink brand Tea and Brown also signed MOUs with the two young farmers, formally ordering Pingtung papayas and taro to develop a brand-new series of hand-shaken drinks, thereby driving the diverse development of local agricultural specialties.

At the press conference, Ponsfu Industrial Co., Ltd. signed MOUs with two young farmers from Pingtung, committing a total investment of NT$3 million to help them grow and jointly raise the output and quality of local produce; Tea and Brown plans to buy papayas and taro from the two young farmers over the long term to develop natural, high-quality hand-shaken drinks such as “Papaya Milk” and a “Taro Series.” Mr. Huang Tzu-hsuan, founder of Tea and Brown, said: “This is not only a practical action to support local young farmers but also a recognition of high-quality local produce.”
The cooperation was combined with Huaxuan Cultural & Creative’s annual musical “Night at the Red Mansion – Whispers of Solitude.” At the after-party following the performance, Pingtung produce took center stage, letting the audience, while experiencing the rich artistic atmosphere, also taste quality produce from Pingtung’s young farmers, including specialties such as papaya milk and taro meatballs.

Chen Mei-chih, Deputy Director of the Pingtung County Agriculture Department, said in her remarks: “The Agriculture Department of the Pingtung County Government has always been committed to supporting local young farmers, matching them and expanding sales channels by creating friendly channels and connecting corporate resources. This cooperation with Ponsfu and Tea and Brown is an excellent example of combining agricultural value with corporate investment and arts creation, which not only creates added value for products but can also take Pingtung produce to the national and even international stage.”
She also stressed: “In the future, the Agriculture Department will continue to promote more local crops, including taro, papaya and baby corn, and also hopes more companies and groups will enter Pingtung agriculture to help young farmers grow steadily.”

The musical “Night at the Red Mansion – Whispers of Solitude” made a stunning debut at the Red House Theater, exploring three facets of modern loneliness and weaving rich emotion from a profound plot and live music. At the after-party, Pingtung young farmers personally prepared a variety of produce-based dishes and the new drink “Papaya Milk” developed by “Tea and Brown.”
With the boost of the arts platform, the Agriculture Department was able to convey the value of local agriculture to audiences from different fields. As the audience tasted the rich sweet aroma of papaya and the smooth texture of taro, they also deeply felt the dedication of Pingtung’s young farmers and the Agriculture Department’s deep care for their homeland.

To help young farmers build a more complete production and marketing chain, the Pingtung County Agriculture Department launched at this event a series of deeper cooperation with corporate capital and brand channels, integrating resources such as investment, product development and cultural-creative promotion, so that Pingtung produce can show its unique charm in diverse fields.
In addition, on November 27 the “Freedom Supports Young Farmers” team also traveled to Pingtung to film rice and Indian jujube young farmers, and Cheng Yung-yu, Director of the Pingtung County Agriculture Department, came to the filming site in person to show care for and support to local young farmers and the team’s efforts. Through such cross-sector cooperation, the Agriculture Department demonstrates its determination to promote the brand image of young farmers and lets more people see the diverse and bountiful face of Pingtung agriculture.
In the future, the Pingtung County Agriculture Department will further bring in international market resources and cultivate the multi-faceted capabilities of Pingtung agriculture, hoping to take local agriculture as the cornerstone and make Pingtung County a new model of agricultural innovation and cultural integration for Taiwan and even Asia.
