Ponsfu Industrial and Tunghai University’s Smart Transformation Center Team Up to Build AI × Carbon-Credit Solutions, Leading Taiwan’s Industrial Sustainability Upgrade
With global net-zero emissions and the Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM) about to take effect, Taiwanese companies face new challenges in transformation, upgrading and international competition. Ponsfu Industrial Co., Ltd. and Tunghai University’s Smart Transformation Center recently signed a memorandum of cooperation, announcing that the two sides will jointly advance carbon inventories, carbon-credit trading, ESG services and AI smart manufacturing, building a new generation of sustainability solutions that combine technology and carbon credits, to fully help Taiwanese companies connect with international green financial markets.
This collaboration will center on the Taichung area, focusing on manufacturing clusters such as the central Taiwan industrial zones and the precision-machinery park. Tunghai University will provide academic and technical support, while Ponsfu Industrial will handle business promotion and industry matchmaking, helping local companies adopt carbon-footprint data management, carbon-inventory systems, sustainability-report writing and carbon-trading operations, and thereby build green supply chains and carbon-neutral processes, opening a new model of smart transformation for Taiwan’s precision-manufacturing industry.
Chun-yu Yang, Chairman of Ponsfu Industrial Co., Ltd., said: “It is an honor to start this collaboration with my alma mater, Tunghai University. Not only do we have our own AI compute center, but we also work with Singapore’s digital green financial exchange to provide international-standard carbon-credit trading and sustainability-reporting tools. In the future we will introduce AI and big data to help companies improve the precision of carbon inventories and the benefits of carbon assets, creating a one-stop sustainability solution from upstream to downstream — from carbon management and energy efficiency to smart manufacturing. We believe that as long as small and mid-sized businesses have the right tools and internationally connected resources, they can stand out in the wave of the carbon economy.”
Since its founding, Tunghai University’s Smart Transformation Center has taken “intelligence, flexibility and strategy” as its core, integrating academic knowledge, industry resources and government policy to help companies advance digital and green transformation. The center stresses that “smart transformation” is not only technology adoption but also a change in corporate culture and decision logic, and this partnership with Ponsfu Industrial is the best practice of bringing academic energy into the market.
Chairman Chun-yu Yang also serves as a director of a listed company (1591) and will in future also recommend other listed companies to cooperate with Tunghai University, jointly completing carbon inventories and sustainability-report writing, building a basis for coping with carbon taxes and carbon border systems and strengthening corporate ESG capability and international competitiveness.
Going forward, the two sides plan to set up demonstration projects in central Taiwan, promoting carbon-credit applications, sustainability-report automation and the introduction of AI energy-saving modules, offering Taiwanese companies more efficient and practical tools for sustainable transformation. Ponsfu Industrial will also continue to leverage its cross-border resource integration and investment-promotion capabilities, and together with Tunghai University become a key driver of Taiwan’s move toward net-zero carbon emissions.
