“Kanagawa YRP AI Compute Center” Three-Party Alliance Signs GPU Data Center MOU, Positioning in Japan’s AI Compute Industry
To meet the surging demand for GPU compute driven by global generative AI and high-performance computing (HPC), Ponsfu Industrial announced on the 7th that it has formally signed the “Kanagawa Yokosuka YRP GPU Data Center Memorandum of Understanding” (MOU) with Japan’s Kitahama GRF Co., Ltd. and G-Tech Taiwan. This three-party collaboration is an important milestone in Ponsfu Industrial’s formal entry into Japan’s AI compute market, and reflects its long-term positioning in global AI infrastructure.
“AI is not the future — it is the present,” said Chun-yu Yang, Chairman of Ponsfu Industrial. “We know that compute is the oil of the AI era. This deployment of 1,024 H200 units is not just an equipment investment; it is the launch of a cross-border strategy. We are effectively integrating Taiwanese hardware, AI algorithms, Japanese facility management and international capital to become a key driver of AI infrastructure.”
Ponsfu Industrial said the collaboration plans to deploy up to 1,024 NVIDIA H200-class GPU units in Japan, with total power capacity of 20MW, creating a benchmark AI compute center for Asia. The project is located in the Yokosuka Hikarinooka (YRP) area of Kanagawa Prefecture, one of Japan’s technology hubs. The data center building has a total floor area of 6,784 square meters across five floors — four dedicated to servers and one for operations and rest space — with dual backbone network bandwidth of up to 800Gbps (Tokyo Electric Power + NTT), and is equipped with industry-leading liquid immersion cooling, UPS backup and on-site generators to ensure computing stability and energy efficiency.
Each of the three parties has a defined role. Ponsfu Industrial, as the main investor, leads the overall development, financing and operating structure of the data center. Kitahama GRF Co., Ltd. is responsible for local power construction, land resources and surrounding facilities, and will carry out 24-hour security management. G-Tech Taiwan, as the designated GPU equipment supplier, will handle delivery, installation, maintenance and technical support under the agreed terms.
